Mount Miguel High School Reviews

My son and I went to Mt. Miguel, and received great academic education there. My son's science project was accepted to the State Science Fair. He and I were able to earn multiple university degrees based on the education at Mt. Miguel. When I wrote articles for scientific journals, other scientists asked where I learned to analyze and write that well. I always told them about Mt. Miguel High School. Yes, many students there have a lot of social problems. But if you take a positive attitude, you can learn much about society from the wide variety of students and their behaviors and misbehaviors. My son and I have since worked in several different countries in Asia, Europe and the Americas, and were able to interact with a range of people without getting upset, because we had already seen or heard about many of the behaviors at Mt. Miguel.

Mount Miguel High School is a great school, overshadowed by it's negative reputation. There are many clubs available that are set forth to ensure students become positive members of society upon their graduation. The teachers are more than competent, and are very helpful in all areas of education. Led by a student-driven principal, he is backed by a great staff, and a wonderful student body. I would urge a parent to ignore the rumors and hearsay, and look at the greatness that comes from this school

Mt. Miguel is great, Mr. Coover is an absolute wonder with the way he has turned the school around and taken and re-instilled pride in the Mt. Thank you

They offer AP classes through sheltered programs. Safety and discipline is a big problem with the lack of leadership from the admin. The sports programs are deplorable however they do have good academic extracurricular activities. No parent involvement.

The quality of the school has went down but I hope in the future it will rise back up.

I love the JROTC program on this campus. It teached the cadets leadership, motivation, and determination. However, the violence is starting to get out of hand, such as outbursts and riots. Something needs to be done.

I will tell you what I think from a student perspective. I went to mt.miguel for 2 years and I loved it. I think about the people every day. overall the school has mostly really good teachers but just as in every school there are always those teachers who need to retire. I was involved in their wonderful music program there for 2 years and I loved every second I was there. i was in show choir and it taught me leadership and responsibility. overall it was a wonderful epxperience and I would 100% recommend this school.

I am actually an alumni of Mount Miguel. I am only posting this review to give a different perspective on Mount Miguel. Unfortuantly Mt. Miguel has had a bad reputations for years, and it can't seem to shake it. However I am here to tell you that Mt. Miguel is a great school. I was a part of the band all four years and also participated in the soccer program. Any school can be a horrible school if you don't put anything into it. I was in a number of clubs and after school activities. The four years that I spent at Mt. Miguel I never felt unsafe or in danger. Our campus supervisors were great at their jobs and took care of us. Our teachers are outstanding and are willing to help anyone who asks.

I feel this school is not very educational. I did not feel my daughter was safe at this school. I DO NOT reccomend this school to any parents.
